The Operations Performance role is responsible for the identification, execution and leadership of Operations Performance within the Packaging Product Team and will lead a team focused on standardized approaches across the Sector, related to two or more of the following sub teams: Safety, Operations Systems, Innovation, automation, Digitalization, Labor Management, Training and Quality. The role will actively interface with identified leaders, decision makers and influencers within the key areas of Operations, Solution Design, Finance and IT to identify, prioritize and manage key internal resources (i.e. people/processes) in the execution of agreed upon approaches and solutions within the Sectors.
Responsible for collaborating with DHL Operations, Solutions Design, Finance and IT leaders, team members and subject matter experts to identify new digitization, automation and innovation processes and tools. This focus will allow the identification of tangible cost and labor savings opportunities for Sector specifically and their customers; other North America Supply Chain sectors (as applicable); and the DHL Supply Chain organization overall.
Recognized (and significant) contributor to overall North America Digitization, Automation and Innovation strategy, Product strategy and developed strategic and tactical initiatives.
Focus areas of this position to include two or more of the following teams: Operations Systems; BI Analytics; Innovation/Automation; Labor Management (LMS/HSE/QA and Engineering) within the Sector.
Key operating system deliverables associated with this position to include standardize implementations, standardize configurations, create, staff and provide leadership and direction to those responsible for delivering the outcomes related to Operations Systems area
Key 'BI Analytics' deliverables associated with this position to include supporting Sector analytics agenda and standardization of data analysis and respective dashboards and visuals.
Key 'Innovation/Automation' deliverables associated with this position to include supporting the identification and implementation of approaches which solve sector and/or customer challenges in a manner which drives increased effectiveness, efficiencies and return on investment (i.e., capital, people and process).
Identify, establish and manage effective working partnerships with respective vendors.
Identify and advise the sector regarding new technologies and concepts that can create automation and savings across our customer base
Recognized contributor within Digitization, Automation and Innovation areas.
Recognized 'Collaborative mindset.'
Clearly communicate updates to all stakeholders, including Sector Executive team - around the topic of Digitization, Automation and Innovation Strategy and identified tactical initiatives.
Develop, in conjunction with Finance, a budget that enables increased profitability through furthering our innovation/automation/digitalization initiatives, while driving value into the Sector sites.
Required Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, or an equivalent field
Ten or more years of experience in operations and supply chain management
Three to five years of manufacturing/packaging industry experience
Demonstrated understanding of operational processes, data management and packaging modernization initiatives
Strong organizational skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
