The Benefits Specialist will assist in processing much of the administrative information received (including protected health information) to assist in the daily operations of the benefits team. This position will also provide excellent customer service to those clients as well as offer administrative support to HR Department:
PRIMARY DUTIES | RESPONSIBILITIES • Administer all employee benefits programs, including health, dental, vision, life, and FMLA • Enter benefit elections, terminations and changes into enrollment system and payroll systems • Assist employees with enrollment and benefit questions • Process COBRA notices for all COBRA clients, post COBRA payments to appropriate accounts. • Act as COBRA liaison for internal staff • Serve as the point of contact for employee inquiries related to benefits, such as enrollment, changes, LOA, WC, FMLA, and inquiries. • Oversee FMLA processes. • Maintain compliance standards by preparing and submitting reports required for government compliance, such as EEOC, OSHA, and ACA filings. • Ensure data integrity in HRIS and benefit administration and FMLA platforms. • Reconciles various benefits statements monthly as determined by the benefits manager • Respond to client and employee inquiries as assigned • Assist with benefit compliance and plan document preparation • Ability to be work with team members in various departments
QUALIFICATION | SKILLS • Two-year degree preferred, but not required, and/or equivalent experience in job related activities • Must be skilled in all Microsoft Office Products • Strong attention to detail and processes a must • Teamworking skills a must • Must be able to learn multiple software systems • Excellent communication skills via email and phone • Ability to multi-task throughout the day • Ability to learn quickly and retain process knowledge • Prior benefits experience is a plus
