Join the Tessenderlo Kerley Team as a Maintenance B in our newest facility in Defiance, Ohio!
Are you skilled with your hands, passionate about maintaining operational excellence and ready for a challenge? Our Operations team in Defiance, is looking for a Maintenance B professional to keep our plant running smoothly and efficiently, and in line with Tessenderlo Kerley policies, procedures, and regulatory standards. Reporting directly to the Plant Manager, you will play a crucial role in our plant's success, ensuring all equipment and systems operate flawlessly.

What you will do:
Be a vital part of our plant's PSM program, conductinspections and maintaindocumentation.
Assist with preventative maintenance and repair of plant equipment and instrumentation.
Assist with maintaining necessary maintenance supplies.
Contain, clean up, packageand labelwaste according to HAZWOPER training and OSHA, NDEQ, RCRA, HM-126, MSHAand DOT regulations.
Report irregularities to management for corrective actions.
Participate in the plant safety program, which includesattending and presenting at required safety meetings, reporting potential hazards, and performing monthly safety inspections.
Assist routine inspection of vessels and equipment to prevent equipment failure/damage.
Assist in plant projects, including maintenance, turnaround, lock out/tag out, and confined space entries.
Implement anEmergency Response Plan and assist in the mitigation of emergency situations.
Perform new facility start-up maintenance activities, including motor burn-in/alignment, rotation verification, equipment lube, and creation of required equipment files.
Assist with maintenance shop setup, organization, and critical spare parts identification and procurement.
Perform preventative maintenance routines in accordance with equipment manufacturerrecommendations and supervisorinstruction.
Troubleshoot and repair plant equipment and schedule contractor assistance when necessary.
Maintain a work order system to ensure work is properly prioritized and repairs are completed in a timely manner.
Utilize plant equipment to clear snow and remove ice during inclement weather.
Set the tone for safety and work ethics for the maintenance department and all coworkers.
Assist rebuilding pumps per the manufacturer's IOM manuals.
Assist with the planning and execution of turnaround maintenance activities.
Monitor activities of contract personnel to ensure safe work practices are implemented.
Perform any other duties as deemed necessary by management.
Qualifications
What we need from you:
Good mechanical/technical knowledge/skills
Must be able to read and understand the material
Basic mathematical/analytical skills
Basic knowledge of chemistry
Experience in welding is a plus
Good written/verbal communication skills
Computer literate - must know basic computer skills
Ability to logically discuss equipment issues with vendor technical support personnel to facilitate timely repairs
Must be organized and thorough, andable to organize and maintain parts storage areas
Must be willing to work overtime when maintenance requirements dictate, and must be available for short-notice call-outs
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to lift 50 pounds, stand for prolonged periods of time, climb multiple flights of stairs, and have the ability to perform various tasks using reaching, pulling, and pushing techniques.
Must be medically cleared to utilize self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA), in-line air with full face respirator, and other respiratory equipment.
