Akkodis is seeking a Senior Database Developer for a Contract job with a client in Charlotte, NC. Ideally looking for applicants with a solid background in the financial services industry.
Pay Range: $65- $70/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.
Position: Senior Database Developer
Location: Charlotte, NC (Hybrid role)
Duration: 12 Months Contract
Responsibilities:
- Provide analysis, design, development, and deployment support for customer database requirements
- Manage database auditing, including daily review of audit reports
- Continually investigate methods to improve database reliability and performance alongside developers and systems engineers
- Provide input on capacity planning, high availability solutions, and upgrade strategies
- Proactively monitor, tune, and implement best practices for database performance
- Support application developers with SQL tuning, data modeling, and physical database design
- Enforce and document database policies, procedures, and standards ensuring correct storage and archiving procedures
- Communicate with technical staff to ensure database integrity and security
- Diagnose and troubleshoot database errors requiring remediation or architectural changes
- Create and manage database reports, visualizations, and dashboards
- Perform baseline hardening for Oracle and SQL Server databases according to security controls and best practices
Skills:
(10) years of relevant experience:
- Technical expertise in database design, development, implementation, information storage and retrieval
- Data flow analysis skills
- Data management and governance experience
- Data engineering experience including data mappings and transformations for data warehouse environments
- Experience in planning transitions between development, testing, and production phases of data warehouse deployment
- Strong knowledge of SQL languages (Oracle Exadata/SQL Server)
- Proficiency in Unix Shell scripting, Autosys scheduling tools, Python programming language
- Financial industry experience preferred
