About the Metals Business Group:
 

The North American Metals business unit within Clarios leads the world’s largest closed loop recycling economy. Across our recycling network, we responsibly recycle over 8,000 batteries every hour of every day. We convert the lead into the grids, and oxides that go into our new batteries. We take the plastics and convert them into new battery cases, and we have the ability to process the acid for use in by-products such as ingredients for detergents.

As a result, automotive batteries are the most recycled consumer product in North America and other G7 economies. The recycling rates of lead-acid batteries now exceed 99 percent. That tops aluminum, paper, tires and glass.

What you will do:

As a part of Clarios’ $2.2Bn North American Metals business unit, and under general direction of the North American Metals Supply Chain Director you will be accountable for leading the Metals SIOP process and Optimizing the Metals Supply Chain in North America. You will lead a team focusing on analyzing, improving, and implementing business processes to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve overall performance. This role will work strategically and collaboratively with cross functional teams within and outside of the North American region in support of the development and execution of the Global Metals strategy. This is a critical position with Clarios’ sustainability blueprint that ensures the company continues to be a Business partner of choice with our customers.

How you will do it:


  • Consolidate and report the health of the Metals Organization through the NA SIOP forum to executive audiences.

  • Drive strategies and gain consensus for Business Growth/Improvement by tying supply chain and economics together, create recommendations that are presented to executive audiences up to the BOD.

  • Continuously evaluate the Metals Business Operating Systems key performance indicators (KPIs), policies, procedures, and controls to identify improvement areas in quality, service, working capital, and cost.

  • Drive change management to execute on improvement areas while enabling accountability to be driven back to decision makers in real time.

  • Ensure all processes comply with all regulatory, financial, and commercial requirements while simultaneously monitoring and managing business risk.

  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the Metals department, challenge the status quo by encouraging innovation and creativity as part of process optimization.

  • Identify and implement technology solutions to enhance supply chain processes, which have a robust user experience, and seamlessly integrate into the business.

  • Build and lead a high performing team of business process experts, providing coaching, mentoring, and training while setting clear objectives, accountabilities, and performance metrics.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive process improvements and standardization.

What we look for:


  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Economics, Operations Management, Business, or Engineering

  • 10+ years of experience in supply chain with proven success, metals experience not required but is a plus.

  • Strong critical thinking and analytical ability, and process orientation in bringing successful resolution to high-impact, complex, and/or cross-functional problems that have meaningful economic implications.

  • Advanced knowledge of SIOP, Inventory management, Commercial, Procurement, Manufacturing, Quality, Distribution/Warehousing, and Logistics processes required.

  • Demonstrated end-to-end enterprise level business process management implementation alongside of enabling systems implementation.

  • Proven ability to manage across functions and successfully engage and influence others outside area of control. Ability to influence up, down and across the organization.

  • Proficient in utilizing business software applications including MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), Visio and project management software.

  • Previous experience working in high volume process manufacturing

  • Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma problem solving
