What you'll do...



Join the Clinical Education team and Chief Administration Office with Healthcare Delivery as a Director, VBC Training, supporting the Walmart Health business. In this role, you will build and execute training plans to support VBC training for all service lines that support Walmart Health Centers. You will build the strategy for VBC educational deployment for associates and providers including playbooks, facilitation guides, and at-the-elbow training procedures and processes to improve Walmart Health Center performance.



This role will:



  • Works with cross-functional stakeholders to design, build, and deploy VBC and outcomes specific training for all clinical service lines.


  • Be accountable for delivery of education and training focused on clinical indications, documentation, coding principles, CMS quality measures, and optimal care evidence-based best practice recommendations for multiple training settings


  • Build the strategy for VBC educational deployment for associates and providers as well present to executive leadership

Additional responsibilities:



  • Builds and executes training plans to support healthcare delivery, including VBC training for all service lines that support Walmart Health Centers. Builds and deploys playbooks, facilitation guides, and at-the-elbow training procedures and processes to improve Walmart Health Center performance.


  • Works with cross-functional stakeholders (for example, RCM, Payer/Contracting Team, Learning and Development, Design, Finance) to design, build, and deploy VBC and outcomes specific training for all clinical service lines. Coordinates with home office and field teams to deploy training. Builds the strategy for VBC educational deployment for associates and providers.


  • Travels to Walmart Health Centers to better understand Walmart Health team members' perspectives and ensure the execution of playbooks, processes, and training. Manages and monitors educational deployment and tracks performance to identify process and training improvement opportunities for Walmart Health Centers. Transitions attendance, surveys, and assessments to local/central operations teams upon the completion of training.


  • Accountable for delivery of education and training focused on clinical indications, documentation, coding principles, CMS quality measures, and optimal care evidence-based best practice recommendations for multiple training settings (for example, one-on-one, small group, lunch/diner presentations, large conference settings). Responsible for the development and delivery of provider education and training as assigned, including risk adjustment, quality, focus on care, and optimal care.


  • Develops and delivers provider and associate-facing education and training, including documentation, coding, clinical evidence-based recommendations, and primary source resources. Facilitates interdisciplinary discussions with clinic administrators and support staff to enhance the coordination and delivery of clinical process requirements to improve clinical workflow and information management between team members, IT support tools, and education and training resource support tools.


  • Ensures the timely evaluation and resolution of barriers impacting provider education and training. Attends required meetings and participates in committees as requested.


  • Attends educational offerings to keep abreast of change and comply with position requirements. Ensures the timely preparation of reports and records for dissemination to stakeholders. Works with key members of other departments to facilitate internal and external processes.


  • Provides overall direction by analyzing business objectives and customer needs; developing, communicating, building support for, and implementing business strategies, plans, and practices; analyzing costs and forecasts and incorporating them into business plans; determining and supporting resource requirements; evaluating operational processes; measuring outcomes to ensure desired results; identifying and capitalizing on improvement opportunities; promoting a customer environment; and demonstrating adaptability and sponsoring continuous learning.


  • Develops and implements strategies to attract and maintain a highly skilled and engaged workforce by diagnosing capability gaps; recruiting, selecting, and developing talent; supporting mentorship, workforce development, and succession planning; and leveraging the capabilities of new and existing talent.


  • Cultivates an environment where associates respect and adhere to company standards of integrity and ethics by integrating these values into all programs and practices; developing consequences for violations or non-compliance; and supporting the Open Door Policy.


  • Develops and leverages internal and external partnerships and networks to maximize the achievement of business goals by sponsoring and leading key community outreach and involvement initiatives; engaging key stakeholders in the development, execution, and evaluation of appropriate business plans and initiatives; and supporting associate efforts in these areas.

Minimum Qualifications...

Doctor of Medicine degree (MD/DO) or licensed advanced practice clinician.
5 years' clinical experience, including experience in a managed care or Medicare advantage setting (primary care preferred).
2 years' experience in the delivery of education, training, and instructional design.
Prior work experience with Microsoft Office.
