The Technical Controls Assessment (TCA) team at Walmart is responsible for assessing the security controls of all solutions in use within the enterprise environment that enable our associates to better serve the customer while protecting customer data for all Walmart brands. The Principal, Risk Expert is an essential role within the Technical Controls Assessment Ops Lead team. The Principal, Risk Expert works across multiple areas and assists in audit engagements, performing root cause analysis, policy updates and interfacing with a variety of subject matter expert areas.

What you'll do:



Reporting to the Director of Technical Controls Assessment, you will be a key contributor to the assessment of solutions to be deployed across the Walmart enterprise while working with cross-functional teams and leadership.


You'll make an impact by:


  • Implement continuous improvement processes to identify opportunities to update existing processes to include review of updated policies to ensure SSP process adherence.

  • Spearheading the response on all audit engagements on behalf of the Technical Controls Assessment team.

  • Focusing on Innovative solutions; leverage existing product solutions

  • Solving for security controls and providing information security thought leadership to submitting teams.




What you'll bring:



You'll sweep us off our feet if:


  • You have minimum 10 years of experience in an Information Security domain

  • You have an understanding of security frameworks (NIST, FISMA, ISO 27001, ISO 27002)

  • You have experience in cloud technologies (Azure/GCP)

  • You have an understanding of technical architecture

  • You hold an information security certification (CISSP, CCSP, CISM)

  • You have a customer-centric mindset

  • You have compliance experience (Privacy, SOX, HIPAA, PCI)

  • You have a strong leadership experience

Minimum Qualifications...

Option 1: Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, information systems, cybersecurity, or related area and 5years' experience in cybersecurity risk or related area at a technology, retail, or data-driven company.
Option 2: 7 years' experience in cybersecurity risk or related area at a technology, retail, or data-driven company.




Preferred Qualifications...

Certification in Security+, GISF, GSEC, CISA, CISSP, CCSP, or CISM, Master's degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, information systems, cybersecurity or related area and 3 years' experience leading information security or cybersecurity projects


CISA - Certified Information Systems Auditor - Certification, CISSP - Certified Information Systems Security Professional - Certification
