We are seeking a full-time Cartography Technician 1 in our Olathe, KS location. In this role, you will be responsible for the attribution, processing and maintenance of cartographic data and participate in the evaluation of map data and execution of Quality Assurance processes on maps produced for use in Garmin products.
Essential Functions
Works under close supervision of supervisor or mentor, following specific, detailed instructions
Creates, edits and/or maintains cartographic data using Garmin-proprietary and/or third-party software
Completes well-defined basic cartography tasks
Identifies and resolves simple issues using proper cartography techniques
Submits work for peer review to ensure product integrity; acts on feedback
Communicates status of work clearly to supervisor or mentor
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Geosciences or related field, OR equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience
Basic working knowledge and understanding of digital cartographic principles relevant to Garmin's business needs
Proficient computer skills and familiarity with PC applications in a Windows environment
Ability to learn and understand established processes and tools, and apply them to daily tasks
Good interpersonal and technical verbal/written communication skills
Good organization skills
