Job Summary

This job is to carry out preventive and breakdown maintenance to mobile Drills in a open cut environment.

Job Description

Required qualifications and skills for the position are:

Excellent interpersonal skills
Demonstrated computer skills (Microsoft Office and Maintenance/Parts manuals)
Strong verbal and written skills required
Maintenance experience & expertise required in the area of Diesel Mechanics, Hydraulics, and 12/24v Electrical Systems

Preferred qualifications and skills are:

Demonstrate ability to solve problems and troubleshoot situations arising in the drill maintenance area
Minimum of one (1) year of drill maintenance or equivalent equipment experience.
Demonstrate ability to perform PM checks and required all documentation.
Knowledgeable of the mechanical maintenance and repair functions performed on haul trucks and other heavy equipment
Knowledgeable of various metals and welding procedures
Assist fellow team members in their skills development by teaching-mentoring the members in your areas of expertise

Duties Include (but are not limited to):

Ability and commitment to work in a safe and efficient manner and demonstrated outstanding personal safety performance
Ability to abide by, and ensure compliance with all company rules and guidelines and all applicable state and federal laws
Ability to work at heights
Ability to work rotating shifts, weekends, and overtime when required
Self-directed and highly motivated in order to work effectively and efficiently with minimal supervision
Perform other duties as assigned

Physical Requirements

SURFACE ENVIRONMENT


  • Must have the ability to stand for up to 4 hours per shift
  • Must have the ability to be seated for up to 4 hours to operate equipment or vehicles
  • Must have the ability to work from elevated positions, walk/climb up and down stairs/steps and climb on/off equipment and ladders
  • Must have the ability to wear required protective footwear, hearing and eye protection, and other personal protective equipment as required by Company and MSHA
  • Must have the ability to perform repetitive hand and wrist motions (push, pull, twist, handle), and have rapid reflex movements of the arms/legs and good hand to eye coordination
  • Must have the ability to lift/raise 10 - 50 lbs. without mechanical assistance frequently during the work shift
  • Must have the ability to work in extreme conditions, including but not limited to changing weather conditions, dust, mud, varying levels of noise from low to high decibels, varying degrees of light/dark, in and around artificial light, and in a confined work area
  • Must have the ability to work various shifts (required shifts include days, evening and nights, with rotating schedules, weekends and holidays)
