Key Responsibilities and Duties:

Essential Functions:

• Screen all incoming and outgoing employees to enter or exit the designated/ restricted areas in the airport/ into the aircraft to ensure they meet the security and risk protocols.

• Screen any belongings with the incoming / outgoing employees to ensure that the belongings are as per the allowed list of items for the designated area of the airport/ aircraft.

• Check the identification cards of incoming/ outgoing employees while allowing/ disallowing them entry/ exit at the access points based on the applicable security protocols for the specific section/ area. Determine if the identification cards meet security standards and the employee(s) seeking entry is /are authorized to enter the designation area/ section.

• Conduct body scan and accompanying baggage checks on all airport employees and any other personnel passing through the assigned area / checkpoint as defined in the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).

• Perform ETD checks as per laid down SOP.

• Patrol and document security related inquiries from employees, vendors and the general public.

• Take reports of criminal or other suspicious activities dealing with Company's property, personnel or operations.

• Stay vigilant and notify all concerned of possible employee related and any other security concerns in the assigned area.

• Inform supervisor and / or management team of any emergency or security incident for appropriate resolution as defined in SOP.

• Utilize CCTV system to monitor various critical areas of the access/ exit points and surrounding areas and take appropriate action on observation of criminal, dangerous or other suspicious activities.

• Handle all building emergency alarms (i.e., fire, elevator entrapment, intercom and so forth).

• Safely keep the Inventory of keys, radios, scanning/ frisking and any other issued equipment.

• Record employee screening results in computer system and complete related documents as per the SOP.

• All employees throughout the organization, as an essential part of their job, have direct responsibilities for safety.

• Complete work in a safe and secure manner, following company safety and operational standards.

• Immediately report safety and security incidents as well as potential hazards in line with the Unifi Fair and Just Culture Policy.

• Perform other related duties as assigned within the appropriate skill and experience capabilities expected for this position.

Performance Measures / Goals:

• Number of employees screened per day/week/month.

• Accuracy of screening acceptance and screening as per security standards (e.g., percentage of errors or discrepancies).

• Timeliness in screening employees, their belongings and detecting discrepancies.

• Accuracy in matching X-ray images with commodity description.

• Accuracy in identifying potential security threats.

• Accuracy and timeliness in completing security screening documents and recording screening results in system.

Other Physical Requirements

Vision (Near, Distance, Peripheral, Depth Perception) required to distinguish and interpret X-Ray images. Sense of Sound/Hearing - Must be able to communicate by radio, phone, and other devices.

Work Schedule:

Working Conditions (Work environment, safety, load factor, etc.):

• Must be able to walk, climb, bend, kneel, crawl, and stoop frequently and for extended periods.

• Noise levels could vary between moderate to loud.

• May be exposed to outside weather conditions including rain, snow, sun and extreme cold and extreme heat.

• Works in and around moving aircrafts and vehicles and is exposed to fumes or airborne particles.

• Must be able to work in rotating shifts and hours, nights, weekends and holidays, overtime.

• Must be able to adapt to varying work pace, often requiring a fast pace, to prevent flight delays.

Other Relevant Considerations:

Knowledge of Airline Safety, Security, Shipping/Cargo procedures, Computer systems, FAA, OSHA, and Station policies and procedures.

• Ability to adapt to changes in the workplace (working different flight schedules, locations, assignments, or working with different people on other shifts).

• Must be able to follow directions, read and interpret SOPs.

Qualifications:

Security License Requirements:

Must have a NYS Licensed Security Guard to qualify.

Required Qualifications:

• Must be a local (in-state) resident.

• High School diploma or GED

• Must be at least 18 years of age.

• Valid In-State Driver's License.

• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen, FBI criminal and USPS background check.

• Ability to pass up to a 10-year background check.

• Must have the authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986.

• Must complete ramp and SIDA training to obtain airport authority identification Security badge.

• Must be able to follow directions read, calculate and interpret documents; possess math skills and work at various paces.
