Position Summary:

Assists university and/or school leadership in the coordination of academic program planning and accreditation. Responsibilities include ensuring proper implementation of processes for required review and approval through The University of Texas System (UT System), The Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (THECB) and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC). Serves as an administrative resource to faculty, staff and students.

Position Key Accountabilities:

  • Assists in the direction of school and/or university accreditation efforts to ensure that internal policies, procedures, and records related to academic programs are appropriate, up-to-date, and utilized.
  • Facilitates submissions and approvals of new academic program proposals and changes to existing programs per UT System, THECB, and SACSCOC rules and regulations. Maintains degree program inventory logs.
  • Oversees the process of updating school and/or general information Course Catalogs
  • Directs the processing and/or coordination and reporting of adjunct, cross-appointed, and emeritus faculty positions.
  • Assists in the preparation and submission of tuition and fee proposals to the University of Texas System.
  • Prepares ad hoc and required academic program reports for submission to UT System, THECB, and other external organizations.
  • Participates in school and/or university academic councils and committees.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Certification/Skills:

    Minimum Education:

    Bachelor's degree in public service, higher education administration, or other related field.

    Minimum Experience:

    6 years experience in higher education administration with related experience in academic affairs.
    May substitute required experience with equivalent years of education beyond the minimum education requirement.

    Physical Requirements:

    Exerts up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently and/or a negligible amount constantly to move objects.

    Security Sensitive:

    This job class may contain positions that are security sensitive and thereby subject to the provisions of Texas Education Code § 51.215

    Residency Requirement:

    Employees must permanently reside and work in the State of Texas.
