We are looking for a Full-Time Research Coordinator I to join the Center for Health Promotion and Prevention Research as part of the UTHealth School of Public Health in Houston, TX. This position will work closely with a project aimed at increasing HPV vaccination among ethnic-minority youth in multiple medically underserved areas across Texas. In this position, you will primarily coordinate project activities to be implemented in 22 participating Houston Independent School District middle schools, including: 1) serving as liaison to schools and healthcare provider partners to ensure that all activities related to vaccination clinics and parent education run according to plan; 2) providing regular and clear communication with providers, district partners, and school contacts to coordinate scheduling of school-based vaccination clinics; 3) preparing for and participating in implementation of mobile vaccination clinic activities (including data collection) and supporting colleagues with clinic implementation in other districts. This position will require the incumbent to be bilingual with excellent verbal and written skills in English and Spanish.

The Center for Health Promotion and Prevention Research has been awarded a 4-year grant aimed at increasing HPV vaccination among ethnic-minority youth in multiple medically underserved areas (MUAs) across Texas. Project activities include delivery of: 1) a social marketing campaign aimed at English and Spanish speaking parents in the MUAs, 2) school-based vaccination clinics at public middle schools, and 3) local and statewide education of school nurses to improve communication with parents about HPV vaccination.
Under general direction of the senior program manager, the Research Coordinator I will conduct activities to support the research project. Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices. This position is located in Houston, TX. Certification for Protection of Human Research Subjects must be completed within 5 days of employment.
