We are seeking a full-time, Environmental Hazard Ranking System / Site Assessment Specialist for our Denver, CO operations.

The selected candidate will assist in coordinating all Hazard Ranking System (HRS) and site assessment activities with the EPA Regional Site Assessment Managers. Responsible for ensuring consistency in the documentation and reporting of all National Priorities List-listing-related SOW activities and deliverables. In addition, you will:

• Provide support on a variety of environmental projects, including remedial investigations/feasibility studies, site investigations, and training/technical support assignments.
• Provide technical support to U.S. EPA contracts. Other projects could include support to emergency response, site assessment and cleanup projects.
• Preparing and conduct technical reviews.
• Conduct data evaluation/validation and technical review validation reports, preparing and conducting technical reviews of other project deliverables, including RI/FS reports, RODs, and other investigation, cleanup, response action decision documents.
• Work may include managing projects, overseeing or supporting data management tasks, providing technical support, and presenting training classes.

Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have 10+ years experience in environmental consulting or related experience and at least five years' years' experience in preparing HRS documentation records and HRS scoring. In addition, you will have / be:
• Completed the HRS Package Preparation Training
• Demonstrated knowledge and familiarity with EPA guidance concerning NPL listing issues
• Proficient in utilizing EPA scoring software
• Experience in performing site assessments in support of the National Priorities List (NPL).
• Experience with data quality/evaluation/validation, hazardous waste, site investigations, site remediation, and field sampling is highly desirable.

The successful candidate will also be able to demonstrate the following skills:
• Prepare human health and/or ecological risk assessments according to Superfund guidance and CERCLA requirements, including preparing conceptual site models;
• Conduct analytical data evaluation/validation and preparing data quality objectives and quality assurance project plans;
• Prepare and conduct technical reviews of reports;
• Oversee data management activities, including knowledge of EPA databases (e.g., Scribe and EQuIS)
• Project management, including budget and schedule tracking and maintenance
• Maintenance of positive client relationships.
• Detailed-oriented.
In addition, a background check will be required.

Degree / Certifications
• BS degree in Chemistry, Science or related field
• Related M.S. degree a plus
• 40-hour HAZWOPER training and current 8-hour refresher a plus.

Work Environment
Work will predominately be in an office environment. Some travel is required and varies based on project requirements; may include weekend travel and work. Work will be primarily from office or home office (with proper connectivity, authorization, and only within the United States). You must be able to:

• Drive on a regular basis. Passing a motor vehicle record background check and maintaining a valid driver's license and good driving record is required.
• Work on a Superfund site. Some fieldwork may involve visiting a Superfund or similar hazardous waste site.
• Travel. Some travel (up to 25%) is anticipated, primarily to locations in the Midwest, but may include other regions of the U.S.
• Work in all weather conditions, both hot and cold, while performing field work outside.

The Salary Range for this position is $90,000 - $115,000, depending on education, experience, skills, and location.
