Role description:

Arcadis New York City is now accepting resumes for Interns for the Summer 2024.

This is an amazing time to join the Mobility team, as we were recently awarded the Gateway Program Hudson Tunnel Project Delivery Partner Project! We are seeking individuals interested in developing their careers in the delivery of Civil Infrastructure and are interested in candidates focused on Quality, procurement, project management, Sustainability, Contract Management, Design Management, Project Controls, Reporting and Construction Management.

As a Civil Engineer interested in project controls, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in various aspects of civil engineering while working under the guidance of experienced professionals. This internship will provide valuable insight into the field of civil engineering and project management while providing for professional growth and development.

Role accountabilities:

As a Summer Intern you will:


  • Assist with site surveys, inspections, and data collection.
  • Contribute to the design process by preparing drawings, calculations, and technical specifications under the supervision of senior engineers.
  • Apply Project Controls: Scheduling, Cost control, Risk Management
  • Assist in the preparation of reports, and presentations.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to solve engineering problems and address project requirements.
  • Support project managers in coordinating construction activities and ensuring compliance with design specifications and regulations.
  • Utilize engineering software and tools to analyze data and assist in the development of engineering solutions.
  • Participate in meetings, site visits, and client interactions as required.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and procedures at all times.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • Strong academic background in civil engineering fundamentals, including structural analysis, transportation engineering, geotechnical engineering, and/or environmental engineering.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Primavera P6 or other engineering applications software is preferred.
