This position will lead the development and execution of asset maintenance and reliability programs across the Oldcastle BuildingEnvelope, Inc. network. The role is responsible for developing a strategy and implementing a systemic approach for the management of production asset maintenance and reliability.


In addition, the role will be responsible for leading the sharing of best maintenance practices, creating standardized reporting metrics/KPI's, leveraging predictive maintenance tools, and driving the use of LEAN tools to improve the efficiency and reliability of Oldcastle BuildingEnvelope, Inc. asset base.


This role can be based anywhere in the U.S. 50% travel will be required.


Here’s What You’ll Get To Do



  • Oversees and implements world-class maintenance strategies to optimize equipment efficiency and improved equipment operating and maintenance costs across all Oldcastle BuildingEnvelope, Inc. manufacturing sites.

  • Accountable for multi-site plant asset reliability and asset maintenance operational excellence. This includes setting and driving strategic direction of asset reliability and maintenance for Oldcastle BuildingEnvelope, Inc. manufacturing operations and enabling best practice sharing and networking.

  • Owns development and deployment of standard maintenance systems for all Oldcastle BuildingEnvelope, Inc. plants. This includes improving and driving use of key maintenance metrics across all sites and deploying asset management methodologies in order to implement a systemic, best in class Predictive, Preventive and Autonomous maintenance program which is consistent across all sites.

  • Owns building a network with site Engineering and Maintenance leadership to strengthen knowledge and capability through best practice sharing and development.

  • Works closely with manufacturing operations to provide technical expertise, strategic guidance, and overall coaching for success.

  • Works in partnership with plant Maintenance managers to develop and implement a plan to build maintenance skills in plant personnel, driving to high-performance self-sustaining operational teams.

  • Develops toolkits and digital enablers in the manufacturing floor to drive line OEE improvements through improved execution of maintenance programs. This includes strengthening skills and use of maintenance planning CMMS systems.

  • Owns development of the production asset maintenance and upkeep masterplan to ensure lowest possible asset lifecycle costs.

  • Serves as the liaison between manufacturing sites to develop capital projects necessary to maximize asset life and production capacity, consistent with manufacturing site’s asset maintenance master plan.

  • Collaborates with Continuous Improvement leadership in the development and execution of plant reliability programs that are aligned with the operational excellence strategy and consistent across the network.

  • Owns implementation of a common reliability strategy to be executed consistently across all plants. Implementation must be done on a phased approach consistent with site's capabilities.

  • Ensures efficient utilization of spare parts inventory across all manufacturing plants, driving network spares inventory optimization.

  • Performs organized maintenance site assessments across the manufacturing network and drives plans to close gaps.

  • Evaluates advanced reliability program tools and capabilities; rolls out as required.

  • Creates a journey map for all sites to get to long term maintenance and reliability objectives in a phased approach.



    Here’s What We’re Looking For



    • Able to lead the development and execution of plant maintenance and reliability programs, manage, influence, and control remote resources, establish direction, manage financial responsibilities, manage multiple interdependent groups and solve complex technical problems.

    • Strong knowledge in the area of TPM/LEAN and process excellence programs and strategy, detailed knowledge of overall manufacturing engineering.

    • Must have strong examples of implementing a comprehensive PM program at a multi site company with demonstrated improvements in OEE, MTTR, MTBR

    • Strong managerial and leadership capabilities. Must possess 10 plus years of experience in a manufacturing or corporate environment leading programs in process excellence and/or plant reliability.

    • Exceptional verbal, influencing, and written communication skills. Capable of driving strategy and results across multiple manufacturing sites.

    • Must be willing to travel up to 50% of the time to support projects at manufacturing plants as needed.

    • Must be willing to work altered schedules / overtime as needed to support the business in a continuous production manufacturing environment.

    • Must be able to navigate a manufacturing environment where PPE is required and where temperatures may fall outside of comfortable ranges.

    • Minimum education required: BS Engineering or similar degree

    • Education desired: MS Engineering, MBA

    • 10+ years’ experience leading maintenance organizations

    • Strong CMMS knowledge, preferably with eMaint

    • Proven experience with managing maintenance teams within Lean manufacturing organization.

    • A proven track record of success.

    • Excellent communication, presentation skills, and demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, senior leadership, and matrixed teams.
