Position: Executive Director - Environmental, Health and Safety
Location: Headquarters – Moon Township, PA

Hours of work: Mondays - Fridays, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM, 40 Hours/Week - Work outside normal hours is routinely expected. Travel up to 50%

The Executive Director – Environmental Health & Safety will lead Environmental, Health and Safety Globally. The Executive Director – Environmental Health & Safety will lead all aspects of global EHS Department and will be responsible for creating and managing global EHS management systems, programs, and initiatives. The Executive Director – Environmental Health & Safety directly supervises the Global EHS team, and plans and directs EHS activity as defined by CCC Executive leadership and Parent Company (Kuraray) programs. The Executive Director – Environmental Health & Safety designs and develops strategies and programs to achieve and continuously improve EH&S targets.

Duties and Responsibilities (not limited to)

  • Develops and manages EH&S programs across all businesses to achieve an accident-free workplace and maintain compliance with applicable global EH&S regulations
  • Directly leads or participates in all major accident investigations to identify root causes and corrective and preventative actions
  • Compliance assurance - Ensures programs and assets are in place to maintain compliance with operating permits and licenses
  • Interacts with employees and management to foster and develop an accident-free workplace culture
  • Supervises Global EH&S site managers, Product Safety Manager and others as assigned
  • Responsible for developing and managing budget for various EHS cost centers
  • Establish annual and long term EHS goals and metrics in cooperation with executive leadership
  • Directs product safety and carbon acceptance functions. Includes global product stewardship for constantly evolving chemical inventory regulation such as TSCA, REACH, KREACH and others
  • Oversees permit applications, renewals, and modifications using internal and external resources.
  • Designs, administers and directs corporate EH&S programs including safety standard audit, process safety programs, an environmental compliance and reporting processes
  • Represents CCC in compliance investigations or penalty negotiations with regulatory agencies
  • Works with various Kuraray functional groups to assure alignment with Kuraray EH&S systems

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.), or equivalent from four-year college or university is required
  • 10+ years Working in an EHS role for a global manufacturer is required
  • 5-7 years Managing a global EH&S function is required
  • Certified Environmental Professional is preferred
  • Certified Safety Professional is preferred
