DCI Donor Services (DCIDS) is looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic team member to join us to save lives!! Our mission at DCIDS is to save lives through organ and tissue donation, and we want professionals on our team that will embrace this important work!! We are looking for an Aftercare Coordinator to facilitate connect with donor families in a caring and professional manner. Someone with experience in bereavement services, counseling, or social work would be an excellent addition to the team!

For over four decades, DCI Donor Services has been a leader in working to end the transplant waiting list. Our unique approach to service allows for nationwide donation, transplantation, and distribution of organs and tissues while maintaining close ties to our local communities.

DCI Donor Services operates three organ procurement/tissue recovery organizations: New Mexico Donor Services, Sierra Donor Services, and Tennessee Donor Services. We also maximize the gift of life through the DCI Donor Services Tissue Bank and Tennessee Donor Services Eye Bank.

Key responsibilities this position will perform include:

  • Assesses donor families’ need for additional support and offers community resources when needed.
  • Addresses donor family concerns and complaints and provides feedback to staff to improve processes.
  • Facilitates and documents all communication with donor families who request aftercare support and/or follow-up correspondence.
  • Responds to donor families’ request for recipient follow up information in a timely manner and coordinates with transplant centers to obtain information.
  • Maintains compliance with regulatory standards, organizational policies, and protocols.
  • Assists in organizing activities to recognize both donors and donor families.
  • Facilitates correspondence and meetings between donor families and recipients.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

This position requires a large focus on administrative work and meeting deadlines for communication efforts.


The ideal candidate will have:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred with a focus on human relationships, healthcare, grief such as social work, psychology, or counseling.

  • 3-5 years of experience working with and supporting families.
  • Working knowledge of computers including Microsoft Office, strong data entry and typing skills required.
