High school diploma or GED

2 years previous manufacturing experience and the ability to read blueprints.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and other employees of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Howmet Aerospace is searching for a Maintenance/Tooling Coordinator in the maintenance department. This opening is located at Fontana, CA. The Tooling Coordinator is responsible for support of planned production tooling readiness, which incorporates cost, importance, labor, materials, etc. that is required. The coordinating of the tooling is to ensure that when the forge work is scheduled, it is to be completed with the least interruption to operations.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Duties and responsibilities include the following: other duties may be required and assigned at any time.


  • Support the tracking of all the tooling, whether new or being repaired.
  • Supports the visual and dimensional inspection of tool sets.
  • Reviews dimensional inspection reports to determine necessary action.
  • Uses blueprints to determine raw material and machining requirements for new tooling.
  • Supports the writeup of requisitions and tracking for Tooling services.
  • Supports processing and tracking of tooling checkbook invoices and purchased orders.
  • Manages tooling budget and attends weekly CAPEX meeting.
  • Supports daily management meeting for status and tracking.
  • Manages accurate critical Production Tooling Kanban system.
  • Continually improving planning, scheduling, purchasing, data management and job reporting systems to increase effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications.
