University, state, and federal policies related to budget, faculty workload and personnel. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Financial complexities and inter-dependencies of division's budget and university's budget.
Account and fund management, including budget development, budget management, transactions, and reporting.
Salary structure and position management for the division.
Advanced knowledge of SAP, Banner, Excel, and other software.
Appropriate use of different funding sources (HEF, E&G, DM, fees, restricted, etc.).
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience using SAP for financial tasks.
Experience using PeopleAdmin for hiring of personnel and personnel management.
Knowledge TXST policies and procedures.
Job Description:
Responsible for coordinating all budget-related matters, including verifying compliance for funding sources and managing personnel budget changes and appointments.
Job Duties:
Record budget transactions, reconcile monthly budgets, resolve any discrepancies with budgeting, and prepare budget transfers as needed for Provost accounts and administrative offices reporting directly to the provost.
Assist budget analyst in preparation of internal faculty workload reports by established Coordinating Board deadlines.
Establish new and maintain current faculty positions in the university's organizational management structure within the division of Academic Affairs.
Reconcile college faculty and staff position budgets and process necessary budget adjustments as needed from faculty and staff salary reserves.
Maintain internal logs such as faculty position tracking, provost funding commitments, and faculty salary review.
Answer college and school/department questions. Assist college budget specialists in resolving budget issues.
Assist budget analyst and budget director with special projects as assigned.
Assist Faculty and Academic Resources in processing faculty contracts as needed.
