Responsibilities

Including but not limited to the following:



  • Analysis of power systems operations and control.

  • Perform transient time domain simulations of electrical power systems in general and real-time simulation in particular.

  • Conduct Power Hardware-in-the-Loop experiments for testing of novel power hardware.

  • Conduct Controller Hardware-in-the-Loop experiments using real-time-simulator platforms.

  • Supervising students.

  • Writing reports and presenting research results to others (including conferences).

  • Support proposal development.

Qualifications

An academic doctorate or highest level degree in electrical engineering with a specialization in power and energy systems or a related field from an accredited institution.

Preferred Qualifications

At least three years of experience in modeling and simulation (M&S) of power systems with a preferred emphasis on real-time modeling instantiation.
Experience and knowledge of Power and Controller Hardware-in-the-Loop concepts and methodologies preferred.
Experience with real-time simulator platforms preferred.
Experience with M&S tools such as PSCAD, RSCAD, and MATLAB/Simulink.
Prophecy with scripting languages and/or programming languages.
Onsite presence in Tallahassee.
