Selected candidate will need to sit, pass and be eligible on the next available Rensselaer County Civil Service Exam for Senior Stores Clerk in order to be considered for permanent appointment. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma and two years of experience as stores clerk, or four years of generalized experience plus the experiences indicated above, or an equivalent combination of training and experience as indicated above. Experience with Microsoft Office programs preferred. DUTIES AND/OR RESPONSIBILITIES: The Senior Stores Clerk performs work under general supervision allowing leeway for the exercise of independent judgment in carrying out assignments in accordance with definitely defined procedures. Supervision may be exercised over subordinate personnel. The Senior Stores Clerk will report to the Department Chair of Applied Technologies and perform the following duties: • Receives issues and keeps records of such items as auto parts, tools, clothing, food items, office supplies, or other supplies and equipment. • Assigns and supervises the work of subordinate personnel. • Keeps records of gas consumption and mileage of trucks and other automotive equipment. • Maintains records on consumption of stores and uses such records to determine replenishment needs. • Maintains current inventory of stores on hand and prepares requisitions for replenishment. • Stocks shelves and performs related manual tasks. • Prepares periodic reports regarding storeroom activities. • Perform other related duties that may be assigned. This is a full-time 12-month, 40-hour work week position with an hourly rate of $18.87. Start date is immediate.
