Description:


The Magnetic Resonance Scientist for the Tulane Research Innovation for Arrhythmia Discovery (TRIAD) Center, part of the John W Deming Department of Medicine, in the School of Medicine at Tulane will support a diverse portfolio of research projects. The primary focus of this position is to design and implement MR pulse sequences with a focus on cardiac MRI, mostly to be performed on a newly installed Siemens Magnetom Skyra 3T MR system in the TRIAD MRI research facility.  The Magnetic Resonance Scientist will be a key part of the imaging team for research in cardiac fibrosis, cardiomyopathy, cardioembolic and ischemic stroke. The Magnetic Resonance Scientist will serve a key support role at the TRIAD MRI research laboratory, collaborating with investigators on designing studies, acquiring and analyzing data, publishing research results, and support the writing and submission of grant applications. Furthermore, the candidate will provide guidance and training to postdoctoral fellows, students, and clinical staff.




Qualifications:



  1. Ph.D. in an engineering, computer science, physical science or related scientific field such as Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Physics is required.

  2. 3 years related or relevant experience

  3. At least one (1) year's research experience in medical image analysis and processing

  4. At least three (3) year of experience with MRI pulse sequence development for cardiac MRI

  5. At least three (3) year experience with Siemens IDEA and familiarity with GE EPIC pulse programming environments

  6. Familiarity with computational tools and programming experience (e.g., MATLAB, Python, C/C++,)

  7. Good verbal and written communication skills (evidence of first-authored scientific publications in peer-reviewed journals)

  8. Evidence of strong analytical skills such as critical thinking, data analysis, and research

  9. Demonstrated ability to work with individuals from diverse educational and experiential background.

  10. Ability to learn new programs
