American Water partners with Seattle Public Utilities to operate the Tolt Water Treatment Facility started operations in 2001 treating water from the Tolt Reservoir located on the South Fork of the Tolt River. Pay range: $95,000 - $158,750
The base salary range represents a good faith salary range for this position. This position is eligible for annual incentive pay and has the opportunity for continued salary growth. If you are hired at American Water your base salary compensation will be determined based on factors such as market, geography, skills, education and/or experience. Important Details
American Water Services-CDM's ("AWS-CDM") Services Contract with Seattle Public Utilities ("SPU") will be ending no later than the first quarter of 2026. SPU will be assuming the operations of the Tolt Treatment Facility at the end of the contract. Cooperative efforts between AWS-CDM and SPU are underway to plan for this transition including the addition of two operator positions.
Primary Role
The General Manager of Operations (known as the Facility Manager at the Seattle-Tolt facility) is primarily responsible for the delivery of all operations and maintenance activities required under the service agreement contract. Duties include planning, organizing and directing activities with respect to the respective contract operations, including water/wastewater treatment facilities, distribution/collection systems and pump/lift stations, etc. as may be required by contract. This position is responsible for fostering cooperation between operations and the City Departments and capital staff on new capital upgrades and repair & replacement projects.
