The Opportunity

• Seeking experienced Board-Certified Emergency Medicine physician for Emergency Medicine Residency Program Director
• Provide leadership and direction to the Emergency Medicine Residency Program
• Work with a team of core faculty physicians to develop and implement educational curriculum
• Ensure compliance with ACGME accreditation requirements
• Recruit, train, and mentor residents in an environment that fosters an environment of diversity, equity, and inclusion
• Coordinate clinical rotations, ensuring a safe, supportive, and high-quality clinical learning environment
• Evaluate resident performance and support achievement of milestones
• Collaborate with faculty, staff, and administration to enhance educational resources and experiences
• Participate in institutional GME processes, including quality improvement, faculty development, and wellness initiatives
• Serve as a liaison between the residency program, hospital administration, and accrediting bodies
• Incorporate up to date emergency medicine best practices into the training program
• Contribute to scholarly activities, including research, publications, and presentations

Required Experience and Competencies

• Emergency Medicine board certification
• Experience as an attending physician
• Three years of educational and/or administrative experience in an ACGME-accredited EM program
• Medical degree (M.D. or D.O) from an approved institution
• Eligibility for medical licensure in Illinois
• Experience with scholarly activity, including peer-reviewed publications
• Strong team building, communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
• Adaptability, creativity, and enthusiasm for teaching and patient care
• Commitment to fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment
• Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams
• Dedication to continuous professional development and lifelong learning

The Practice

Franciscan Health - Olympia Fields, Illinois

• Annual volume of 50K ED patients
• Level III Trauma Center
• Highly efficient ED with top operational metrics and engaged nursing leadership
• All ED clinicians are Vituity partner physicians and Vituity advanced providers
• Olympia Fields is a teaching hospital with residency and fellowship programs in internal medicine, general surgery, radiology, orthopedics, urology, critical care, cardiology, and gastroenterology
• Franciscan Health Emergency Medicine Residency is a three-year ACGME accredited program with AOA roots
