Responsibilities:
  • Provide legal advice and guidance on a range of contracts, including trust, reinsurance, warranty, consumer, compliance, dealership, vehicle service contract, GAP administration, and other corporate agreements.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with state regulations, collaborating with relevant departments such as the Department of Financial Services in NY and the Office of Consumer Credit Commissioner in TX.
  • Work closely with the Compliance Manager and other stakeholders to address legal compliance issues.
  • Advise on corporate concerns beyond contract matters, showcasing a comprehensive understanding of the business and industry.
  • Stay abreast of changes in laws and regulations affecting the automotive and financial services sectors.
  • Act as a point of contact for legal matters, representing the company in legal proceedings when necessary.
  • Assist in developing and implementing policies and procedures to mitigate legal risks.

Ideal Candidate Qualifications:
  • Juris Doctor (J.D. / JD) degree from an ABA accredited law school.
  • Admitted to practice law in Pennsylvania or licensed Attorney from another State Bar, in good standing.
  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience as a practicing attorney, preferably with in-house counsel experience.
  • Strong background in contract law, with a focus on trust, reinsurance, warranty, consumer, compliance, and dealership contracts.
  • Familiarity with the automotive and financial services industries.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Practical knowledge of employment law and commercial lending
  • Prior experience with Commercial Litigation - defense
  • Earlier work involving Contract Compliance
  • Knowledge of contract administration
  • Experience with commercial law, consumer law, financing, and state regulatory agencies
  • First-rate academic credentials and references
  • Prior law firm experience a plus.
