Senior In-House Attorney Position Overview:
We are currently seeking a Legal Counsel with a minimum of 8+ years of experience to provide comprehensive legal support across health, safety, environment (HSE), human resources (HR), contracts, and procurement functions. This role presents an exciting opportunity for a seasoned professional to contribute to the success and growth of our client's organization. The ideal profile is someone who has experience in environmental, health, and safety (EHS) matters, state/federal compliance matters, labor & employment, and litigation matters.
Senior In-House Attorney Responsibilities:
Offer strategic legal advice and support on health, safety, and environmental matters, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
Advise HR departments on employment law matters, including employee relations, workplace policies, and compliance with labor laws.
Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of contracts and agreements, including procurement contracts, vendor agreements, and service contracts.
Conduct legal research and analysis on complex issues related to HSE, HR, contracts, and procurement, providing actionable recommendations to mitigate risks and achieve business objectives.
Assist in the resolution of legal disputes and claims, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to achieve timely and favorable outcomes.
Stay informed of developments in relevant legislation and regulations affecting the company's operations, ensuring proactive compliance and risk management.
Senior In-House Attorney Requirements:
Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
Admission to the bar in the relevant jurisdiction.
8+ years of in-house or law firm experience; regulatory and/or litigation legal background in energy or manufacturing strongly preferred.
Focus on health, safety, environment, HR, contracts, and procurement, preferably within [industry/sector].
Strong expertise in relevant legal areas, including employment law, contract law, environmental law, and regulatory compliance.
