Job Description:

Job Summary

This position will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of the environmental and consumer class action department in the NYC office. This role will oversee the legal support staff within the department, interfacing with the attorneys, and be responsible for staying abreast of all litigations. The ideal candidate will have a high level of emotional intelligence, strong organizational, communication, and multitasking skills, as well as a good understanding of legal terminology and procedures.

Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with attorneys to understand their needs and ensure effective communication across the department;
  • Assist management with staffing needs, including monitoring workloads, managing evaluations, and collaborating on hiring;
  • Ensure that attorneys and support staff have necessary resources to accomplish their goals and are able to meet deadlines;
  • Interface with other firm departments relating to cross sectional issues within firm, such as technology, accounting, intake and other departments;
  • Track and monitor attendance for the department;
  • Management of day-to-day, general administrative functions;
  • Assist with ad hoc projects and tasks as assigned by management.

Qualifications:
  • 3 + years of law firm experience;
  • 5+ years of full-time administrative experience;
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills;
  • Ability to work independently and be proactive;
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment;
  • Strong computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint;
  • Knowledge of ECF and Pacer is a plus.

The annualized salary range for this position is $70,000 to $85,000.

The referenced salary range is based on the Firms good faith belief at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as geographic location, work experience, market conditions, education/training and skill level.
