Join our team as a Community Strengthening Inclusion Specialist at the YMCA! You'll support children's social-emotional health and disability inclusion by working with staff and parents/caregivers, analyzing data, developing behavior support plans, and advocating for inclusive services. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS include the following, other duties may be assigned:
Thinks, communicates, and behaves as a cause-driven leader and role model for other staff and members when it comes to desired staff behaviors; promotes youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility in all job-related functions.Work directly with children who exhibit complex behaviors to gather data and develop strategies to reduce and/or eliminate challenges within the YMCA school-aged programs.Analyze individual child data to help develop a positive behavior support plan for teaching staff to implement in programs.Model various behavioral interventions with the YMCA school-age program staff members.Provide ongoing support and resources to YMCA program staff to ensure that individualized services are effectively provided to a child with diagnosed or suspected disabilities, IEP, and/or mental/behavioral health concerns.Provides staff with the information, guidance, and resources needed to help modify activities, remove barriers, and provide support as needed for the inclusion of children with disabilities or mental/behavioral health concerns in the full range of program activities.Responsible for screening, assessment, and data analysis to support staff in carrying out individualized learning and improving teaching practices.Attends meetings with parents, Association Director of Access and Ability, school districts, and other community providers to share or gather information as needed. Providing parents with information advocating for services and support needed to address their childs needs, as well as transition services and activities.Submits reports as needed and requested, such as monthly summary tracking reports, etc.Adheres to policies related to boundaries with youth, participates in required abuse risk management training, reports suspicious and inappropriate behaviors, follows mandated abuse reporting requirements, and adheres to job-specific abuse risk management responsibilities.
