Job Description



GPIis seekinga mid-levelSurvey CAD Technicianwith a minimum of three (3) years of experience in our Buffalo, NY office. This position is responsible for developing survey construction stakeout and as-built plans and boundary survey drawings in a CAD/CIVIL3D platform; receiving field data and transforming them into working drawings, existing conditions base sheets, and finished plats. The Survey CAD Technician will work under the direction of a Project Surveyor.

Responsibilities:

• Preparing, understanding, and completing drawings in accordance with project specifications and various industry survey standards


• Creating a preliminary and/or final sketch of proposed drawings, using computer-assisted design/drafting equipment


• Modifying drawings as directed by the project manager or project surveyor


• Working closely with other surveyors and engineers to ensure a coordinated design


• Performing miscellaneous job-related duties as necessary

• Minimum 3 years of experience in drafting boundary and topographic surveys


• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills


• Excellent with AutoCAD and Civil 3D


• Proficiency in AutoCAD is highly preferred

• Maintain a valid driver's license with a clean motor vehicle report (MVR) for final consideration


• Read, write, and understand plans and directions given in the English language


• Basic computer skills with the ability to create and edit Microsoft Word and Excel documents, create Outlook emails and utilize SharePoint and Microsoft Teams to communicate with other team members


• Able to move equipment or inspection specimens weighing up to 50 pounds
