What You Will Achieve

 

Working with a dynamic team of procurement experts, you will play an important role in negotiating commercial pricing and terms with certain suppliers for the procurement of direct material supply. You will facilitate category strategy management and execution in partnership with your global procurement peers, manage supplier delivery and performance to support ongoing operations, collaborate closely with cross functional teams to understand business needs and enhance the value suppliers deliver for Pfizer.

 

As an Associate, your focus will be executing project responsibilities that drive cost savings and operational efficiencies, collecting and acting on internal customer needs from our suppliers and the Pfizer procurement organization, managing supplier performance, and delivering team goals. Through your domain knowledge and commitment, you will create a collaborative team environment for your colleagues.

How You Will Achieve It:

 

Local Stakeholder Management Support

 

  • Act as relationship manager for assigned key site and global suppliers at the site
  • Engage in key internal/external stakeholder discussions at the local plant/market
  • Support sourcing strategy development and execution that align with company objectives based on business requirements received from internal stakeholders, including business leaders and cross-functional teams
  • Engage in the discussions on core processes needed to coordinate across local teams and stakeholders. Organize own work to meet deliverables to project task deadlines.
  • Provide regular updates on procurement activities and cost savings achieved to senior management and stakeholders
  • Execute budget and forecasting activities to the financial organization, reporting spend and purchase price variance outcomes via detailed driver explanations

 

Operational Excellence

 

  • Support the initiatives on process improvement to achieve cost savings, increased productivity, and enhanced supplier performance
  • Analyze spend data to identify cost savings opportunities
  • Support regular internal SRM reporting
  • Create and maintain documentation related to procurement activities, including savings and operational excellence projects and supplier contracts with commitments to improving OE
  • Analyze business needs and identify ways of improving the procurement processes, tools, policies and procedures, to drive efficiency and proactive engagement
  • Work with manufacturing team to assure delivery requirements are met

 

Supplier Performance Management

 

  • Lead regular supplier performance management discussions with key suppliers, focusing on operational and quality metrics, and building material for the discussions
  • Track supplier performance to ensure adherence to contractual agreements, quality standards, and delivering on performance improvement commitments

 

Sourcing

 

  • Conduct market research to identify potential local and diverse suppliers and develop a supplier database to streamline procurement process
  • Support the management of the category plans and provide non-category specific development to support the goals of the department and function
  • Identify local/alternate suppliers, participate in negotiation of favorable pricing; Interface with Pfizer Global Procurement groups to assure alignment with pre-established strategies
  • Perform any bidding activities using current system application and sourcing tools
  • Implement and monitor the procurement processes to ensure compliance with national regulations, corporate policies and Good Manufacturing Practices (also cGMP), Environment, Health & Safety (Local applications) guidelines

 

REQUIRED BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

 

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management preferred, or any business related discipline
  • Up to 2 years of work experience, ideally in sourcing & procurement within a large multi-national company
  • Sound Information Technology skills particularly in Excel spreadsheet, word processing and presentation packages
  • Knowledge of procurement systems, processes and procedures
  • Good project management and facilitation skills
  • Effective communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written
  • Client Engagement and Customer Relationship Management skills
  • Ability to manage and prioritize diverse workload, adapt to changing priorities and assignments
  • Cross-site, cross-functional project skills and experience
  • Demonstrated achievement of results, including savings generation, improvements to supplier relationships, product quality and service delivery

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

 

  • MBA
  • Experience working in pharma manufacturing environment
  • Experience in secondary packaging sourcing
  • Familiarity with budget and forecast development
  • Knowledge of SAP

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $64,600.00 to $107,600.00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer's Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 7.5% of the base salary.
