Provides leadership to the Quarry Team. Operates, lubricates, and helps maintain heavy equipment. Also responsible for various inspection duties and associated recordkeeping. Reports to the Quarry Supervisor.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Put safety first in all things
Helps maintain heavy equipment, assists with/performs scheduled PM's as required.
Maintains smooth, level surface on quarry roadways and regularly clears plant perimeter using maintainer/blade.
Responsible for housekeeping in work areas.
Inspects belts and feeders throughout quarry; promptly reports needed repairs
Provides daily leadership to the Quarry Team.
Takes care of day to day activities in the quarry operations.
Performs weekly contamination tests on all dewatering wells and maintains accurate records.
Monitors quarry fleet fuel consumption, keeps accurate records of fuel tanks, and orders fuel deliveries timely.
Cleans spills using, shovel, broom and wheelbarrow as needed.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or GED
Ability to read, write and verbally communicate in the English language to a degree sufficient to comprehend technical manuals
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Must be able to operate front-end loaders with proficiency.
Must be able to keep accurate records of machinery lubrication and records of transporting materials to feeders.
Must be able to understand and speak clearly on mobile radio unit.
Must be able to read and understand operating manuals for assigned mobile equipment.
Must be able to visually inspect belts and feeders and recognize when repairs are needed.
Must be able to work in confined spaces and below ground level.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Lift up to 60 pounds and perform manual labor
Must have the ability to assimilate Visual acuity, speech & hearing, hand & eye coordination into the 'finesse' required to operate the Wirtgen -
Walking, climbing stairs, bending, stooping, crouching, kneeling, pushing, pulling, reaching, twisting, balancing, repetitive motion, driving, and squatting to perform the essential functions of this production labor position
Must use proper Personal Protective Equipment as required
WORKING CONDITIONS
Works in all weather conditions including heat, cold, ice, rain and in high humidity and is required to work in all plant environments.Incumbent will be exposed to vibrating equipment and mechanical and electrical hazards and heights.May have exposure to dust, cement, clay, gypsum, sand, diesel exhaust, lubricants, solvents, various fuels, etc. (See MSDS's)
