Wilsonart currently has an opening for an Area Manager for our Temple North Distribution Center. This role will be responsible for managing the activities of the Wilsonart Distribution operation in our Temple, Texas manufacturing facility. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead the departments to create and achieve department goals to support the overall business unit goals.
  • Lead the continuous improvement effort of the area leveraging lean/Six Sigma tools.
  • Coordinate priorities and resources with peer-level managers for enhanced performance.
  • Integrate PDCA methodology into the area of responsibility and manage improvements.
  • Coordinate with Quality and Technical resources to support customer needs and concerns.
  • Communicate with the departmental Supervisors, Team Leaders, and associates on the progress of achieving the area goals, leveraging tier communications and other platforms to ensure employee engagement.
  • Evaluate and manage the daily metrics and KPIs and initiate the appropriate countermeasures.
  • Ensure the organizations quality goals are met through compliance with ISO procedures and standard work.
  • Understand and manage cost drivers for the area and direct the organizations focus on cost reduction.
  • Ensure special projects are complete as required.
  • Ensure monthly safety and goal meetings are conducted for all employees.
  • Coordinate training and development of personnel.
  • Guide and develop feedback to supervisors for their professional and personal growth.
  • Review and approve the annual performance evaluations and help others formulate goals.
  • Understand and support the organizations vision, mission, and goals.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION:
Bachelors degree Required in Engineering, Business, or other Technical Discipline. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be accepted. Masters Degree is preferred.

EXPERIENCE:

  • 5+ years of experience in a Distribution role in a manufacturing environment. Building products experience is highly preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal relations skills.
  • Statistical and analytical problem-solving.
  • Demonstrated history of growing and developing direct reports.

WORKING CONDITIONS

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Sitting in the same location of standing/walking; required to stoop, climb, or lift light material (10-20lbs) or equipment.ENVIRONMENT:
Located in an indoor area with frequent exposure to mild physical discomfort from dust, fumes, temperature extremes, loud noises, and bright lights. Examples: mail clerks, material handlers and food service workers
