Job Description:
POSITION SUMMARY
The Automotive Intern will assist with general automotive-related duties.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Tear down and inspection of engine components and cylinder heads
- Cleaning parts
- Measurement and computer documentation of components
- Machine work such as surfacing and grinding
- Assembly work on engine components
- Assembly and documentation on fuel system components
- Inventory of parts
- Other duties as assigned by supervision
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Education or experience in automotive repair and maintenance
- Mechanical aptitude
- Must have ability and drive to perform quality work
- Must be able to perform basic math and have good reading comprehension
- Experience using a computer
- Ability to take instruction
- Must be able to effectively communicate with supervision and team members
- Ability to uphold the Baker culture of integrity and teamwork
- Must possess a valid driver’s license
- Ability to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Excel

Climate controlled shop

PHYSICAL QUALIFICATIONS
Must be able to stand/walk up to 7 hours
Ability to lift up to 70 lb. occasionally
Bend and twist occasionally
Fine manipulation occasionally
Gross manipulation frequently
