Job Summary | The Chen Lab is in the Spinal Cord & Brain Injury Research Center in the University of Kentucky. We study how glial cells contribute to the repair of the central nervous system, by using a combination of mouse genetics, experimental central nervous system (CNS) injury models, mouse behavioral assays, and cellular and molecular biology. We are seeking highly motivated, enthusiastic, and collaborative candidates. Main responsibilities include mouse colony maintenance, laboratory organization, performance of in vitro and in vivo experiments, recording/analyzing experimental data, and overseeing student assistants. Experience with mouse work is highly desired (e.g., mouse colony maintenance, genotyping, surgery, tissue preparation). Experience with any of the following is preferred: cell culture, microscopy, histology, cellular and molecular techniques.
