Job Description:

As an aluminum sheet and coil Buyer you will play a crucial role in supporting the procurement process and ensuring the efficient and cost-effective sourcing of materials. You will be responsible for sourcing and purchasing materials to meet the company's needs. This role requires a strong understanding of the aluminum industry, market trends, and the ability to build and maintain relationships with suppliers.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Supplier Management: Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure a stable and reliable supply of items and materials.
  • Sourcing: Identify potential suppliers for the purchase of aluminum products. Continuously evaluate and assess supplier performance.
  • Purchase Order Processing: Generate and process purchase orders accurately and in a timely manner. Ensure all necessary documentation is complete and compliant.
  • Market Research: Stay informed about market trends, pricing, and industry developments related to aluminum materials. Provide insights and recommendations based on market analysis.
  • Inventory Management: Work to maintain optimal stock levels, minimizing excess inventory while ensuring products are readily available.
  • Cost Analysis: Assist in cost analysis and cost-saving initiatives to optimize procurement processes.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of transactions, contracts, and other relevant documentation. Prepare regular reports on procurement activities.
  • Collaboration: Coordinate internal departments to ensure seamless procurement processes.

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • 3 - 5 years experience.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational abilities.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Knowledge of aluminum or related materials and the manufacturing industry.
  • Proven experience in purchasing aluminum sheet and coil or related materials
  • APICS/CPIM/CPM/CPSM (ISM) certifications preferred
  • Experience with modern ERP systems
  • Detailed understanding of understanding of Microsoft Office Products - Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • PowerBI / Tableau experience preferred
  • Travel required to various facilities in the company and suppliers / seminars as necessary; travel anticipated to be 10%.

Work Environment/Physical Demands:

Typical office environment - moderate noise level. This position regularly requires frequent standing; walking; sitting; use of hands; reaching with hands and arms; and talking and/or hearing. This position requires some stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling. Occasional lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds. Overnight travel is sometimes required.
