Job Description:

The Asset Manager will assist in overseeing the organization's affordable housing-based portfolio and assisting with the initial lease-up and stabilization of all Commonwealth Development Corporation properties. The individual in this role must have the ability to perform in fast paced, goal driven environments. Some periodic travel required as we operate in markets spanning across much of the United States.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties as assigned and special projects as management may deem necessary.

Assist with the initial lease-up and stabilization of all CDC properties.

Track and report leasing, stabilization, and credit delivery metrics.

Work with Senior Asset Managers to develop marketing plan and implement lease-up strategy.

Prepare timely reports and perform analysis to proactively identify potential loan delinquencies and revenue losses.

Full Project Management responsibilities for all projects prior to conversion to permanent financing (generally the first 12-24 months of operation following construction completion) - possibly up to 25 projects at one time between pre-leasing and final stabilization.

Provide support to stabilized asset management team.

A bachelor's degree preferred in Real Estate, Economics, Marketing, City Planning or related field.

6 years residential property management experience with 2 years at corporate level and a demonstrated ability to lease apartment units.

1 year of Affordable housing (Low Income Tax Credits or HUD) experience preferred.

Must have superior leadership & analytical skills in the following areas:

Proforma

Budgets

Stabilization/DCR metrics

Credit delivery

Must have strong strategic abilities to make sound business judgement and resiliency in an ever changing and times ambiguous environment.

Excellent interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to inspire, motivate and lead a growing team of professionals.
  • strong collaborative teams while working with cross-functional departments at all levels.

Strong internal drive to meet or exceed set goals and deadlines

Real Estate Broker's License or Certified Property Manager (CPM) status is a plus.

Must be open to weekly overnight travel as required.
