Located in Houston, Texas, USA. We specialize in new, remanufactured and repaired AC and DC motors and generators for the oil & gas, dredging, paper, petrochemical, mining, utilities and transportation industries. Our power equipment can be engineered and manufactured to meet the specific needs of your industry. All our engineering is performed at our facility making sure that your exact specifications are met.

This position works with our current purchasing staff to ensure that materials, equipment, and supplies are ordered and delivered in a timely manner.

Role and Responsibilities
• Generate Purchase Orders for production materials and supplies
• Maintain purchase order records, including 'Notes' to record conversations, status and updates to the purchase order
• Locate vendors of materials, equipment or supplies and interview them to determine product availability and terms of sales
• Negotiate cost reduction and other benefits based on professional purchasing tactics
• Generate and manage Requests for Quote process
• Manage supplier base, pre-qualify and evaluate new supplier sources
• Process returns to suppliers
• Maintain supplier contact information
• Review manufacturing and sales material requirements/schedules, generate purchase orders per those requirements/schedules.
• Review and resolve discrepancies between purchase orders and supplier invoices
• Maintain purchase delivery/receipt schedules by direct communication with suppliers
• Maintain open purchase orders including documenting notes on supplier communications, status or schedule updates
• All other duties as assigned

Required Skills

• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Demonstrated ability to identify & implement best practices.

Preferred Education/Experience
• 2+ years' experience in a manufacturing environment
• Bilingual (English & Spanish) strongly preferred
• High school education or equivalent
• Use of an ERP system for Purchasing (VISUAL Enterprise is a plus)
• Microsoft office
