We are looking for a Shift Supervisor to join our team.

OVERALL JOB PURPOSE:
  • Ensures the shift priorities and work schedules are adhered to in all manufacturing areas. Checks on the progress and quality of the work throughout the shift.
  • Gathers and analyses information necessary to achieve the overall manufacturing priorities on the shift. (Statistical Process Control charts, Work In Progress reports, equipment status, hold lot, ship schedule linearity, etc.)
  • Coordination between the manufacturing areas, to achieve overall production schedule.
  • Defines the responsibility, authority and interrelation of all personnel who manage, perform and verify work affecting quality and environmental. Management identifies in-house verification requirements, provides adequate resources and assigns trained personnel for verification activities.
  • Provides Work Instructions, which describe the process of assembling, verifying and documenting product performance.
  • Represents the company to the shift and communicates company priorities and directions to the shift employees. Ensures the company policies are being adhered to.
  • Manages Equipment Engineering and Maintenance priorities.
  • Makes the decision on when and who to call in critical situations.
  • In critical situations has access to warehouses and other inventory to keep the factory running.
  • Encourages and facilitates the constructive resolution of conflict.
  • Promotes cooperation and teamwork.
  • Handles all employee disciplinary action on the shift.
  • Enforces area protocols, cleanliness and mix lot prevention practices.
  • Leads and facilitates continuous improvement.
  • Provides management feedback and recognition for work well done.
  • Proactive management of company safety programs.
  • Maintains performance documentation including safety and training.
  • May perform other duties as assigned.
  • SPQ Requirement: Leads the on-shift Emergency Response Team in role as Incident Commander.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • No unusual physical requirements pertaining to this position other than normal sitting, bending, standing and lifting of objects of up to 50 pounds, in specific work areas.

PREFERRED JOB QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION:

Knowledge of manufacturing processes and equipment, utilization in area of responsibility, Statistical Process Control techniques, supervisory methodology and computer literacy.

Associate degree in a related field and 7+ years of related experience in a manufacturing environment, including supervisory responsibilities. Or an equivalent amount of related experience, education and/or formal job related training.
