Job Description:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Junior Estimator to join our team. This role will work closely with our Director of Protocol and Cleaning Services to prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates for specialty cleaning & maintenance services. The ideal candidate will have strong mathematical skills, a keen attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist in preparing cost estimates for Protocol Management Services, including material, labor, and equipment costs.
  • Review project plans, specifications, and contract documents to understand project requirements and scope.
  • Conduct quantity take-offs and measurements from blueprints, drawings, and other project documents.
  • Research and gather pricing information from suppliers, subcontractors, and vendors to obtain competitive quotes for materials and services.
  • Assist team with project specifications and requirements to identify potential cost-saving opportunities and value engineering alternatives.
  • Utilize estimating tools to input data, generate cost estimates, and produce bid proposals.
  • Collaborate internally for accuracy and completeness of estimates.
  • Assist in preparing bid packages, proposals, and other documentation for submission to clients and contractors.
  • Participate in bid review meetings and discussions to present and justify cost estimates and proposals.
  • Update and maintain databases, records, and files related to estimating activities and projects.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Facilities Management, or related field preferred.
  • Previous experience or internship in construction estimating or related field is a plus.
  • Strong mathematical skills and ability to perform accurate calculations.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively communicate with internal teams, clients, and subcontractors.
  • Highly organized with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong attention to accuracy and quality.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Bluebeam & OST) preferred.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, demonstrating a collaborative and proactive approach.
  • Strong work ethic and willingness to learn and grow in the field of construction estimating.
