Compensation: $70,000 -$110,000

Description:

We work on a wide range of projects, and the ideal Project Manager must be passionate about leading a team focused on building everything better. Strong communication skills are a must as you coordinate and collaborate with team members at all levels of the organization in an ever-changing environment. Your ability to be flexible, inventive, dedicated, and efficient is vital to your success in this role.

Site and Customer Collaboration:
  • Act as the primary point of contact for all things project related, both internally and externally, via phone, email, or any other means.
  • Establish and build relationships with customers, subcontractors, and other partners to create a collaborative atmosphere and facilitate project success.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of the project scope and project objectives.
  • Attend customer meetings and visit job sites as needed to support the customer relationship and mitigate risks that may arise.
  • Create sequencing plans and collaborate with customers to ensure projects are delivered on time and support the overall construction schedule.
  • Facilitate negotiations related to customer contracts and outside partner agreements and explore alternatives to identify mutually advantageous outcomes supported by all parties.

Internal Team Champion:
  • Foster a collaborative environment within the project team and organization to best support work in progress and enhance customer relationships.
  • Connect with other internal preconstruction, detailing, and production teams to ensure projects stay on track, potential issues are mitigated, and project lifecycle is not interrupted.
  • Coordinate with outside partners such as engineering, special inspections, and other industry trades to facilitate interaction with internal project teams.
  • Lead project related meetings such as Status/Scrum, Kickoff, and Closeout.

Project Administration:
  • Manage all project correspondence including but not limited to partner and other trade drawings, customer schedules, bid instructions, requests for information, and submittals to ensure projects stay on schedule.
  • Proactively manage project changes including gathering and distributing information, creating and submitting change order requests, ensuring timely acceptance of scope changes, and updating project teams regarding the altered project requirements
  • Ensure effective document control is in place and that all parties have access to the most current information such as design drawings, addenda, or bulletins, RFIs, Change Orders, project task lists, and notes.
  • Establish Project Schedules to track milestones, submittal targets, deliveries to ensure projects will be fabricated and delivered on time.

Financial Tracking for Profitability
  • Prepare and interpret project financial reports to ensure projects complete within estimated budget.
  • Coordinate with the accounting team to facilitate monthly progress billing.
  • Gather information from subcontracted partners to ensure project schedule supports cash flow.

Project Closeout
  • Complete and submit closeout documentation as required for each project.
  • Manage and facilitate the completion of any customer punch-list items.
  • Lead internal closeout meetings to ensure all project related issues were addressed and recognize project success stories.

Assist in Quality
  • Document and track non-conformance and corrective action related to projects.
  • Collaborate with peers to address fabrication issues either in the shop or on-site.

Skills and Experience:
  • Excellent communication skills are a must.
  • Possess an in-depth understanding of the Project Management principles used throughout the construction industry.
  • Proven track record of successful project management
  • Ability to take ownership of commitments and organize and prioritize workload.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in completing daily work or special projects.
  • Ability to use effective processes to accomplish tasks on a quick turn-around basis.
  • Ability to work on several tasks concurrently and effectively.
  • Strong organizational and follow-up skills.
  • Professional, courteous, and highly collaborative with a positive attitude.
  • Flexibility to take on other duties as assigned.
  • Previous experience with steel fabrication, construction industry, or manufacturing a plus
  • Bachelor's degree with a focus in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field is preferred.
  • Proficient with MS Office. Experience with ProCore, Tekla EPM or other MRP system, and SmartSheet a plus

  • The job will be full-time, in person.
  • The primary workspace will be at a desk in the office.
  • Periodic interaction with the production shop will create exposure to a loud environment.
  • Ability and willingness to travel to visit project sites, customers, trade shows, or events.

Pay: $70,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
