Location: Basalt/ Aspen, CO

Schedule: Monday - Friday 7:30 am- 4:30pm

Job Summary:

GZO Sheet Metal & Roofing is currently looking for a Shop Fabricator to work in the Basalt/Aspen, CO office. What you will do:

Plan, coordinate, budget, and supervise projects from start to finish.

Shop Fabricator:

Select types of materials according to building or design plans.

Measure and mark dimensions and reference lines on materials.

Drill holes in materials for screws, bolts, and rivets.

Install materials with supportive frameworks.

Fabricate or alter parts at construction sites.

Maneuver and anchor large material parts.

Inventory materials as they come into shop.

Keep track of locations of various equipment.

Install/test materials in the field as needed.

Fasten seams or joints by welding, bolting, riveting, or soldering as needed.

May be responsible for limited programming of the computers controlling equipment.

Field Supervisor:

Monitor projects and make decisions about construction activities.

Interpret and explain contracts and technical information to other professionals as needed.

Collaborate with architects, engineers, and other construction specialists as needed to schedule and complete projects.

Select subcontractors/laborers and schedule and coordinate their activities.

Respond to work delays, emergencies, and other problems with the project.

Responsible for quality control of assigned projects.

Oversee multiple projects on a daily basis, conduct daily site visits.

Deliver materials and inventory materials from site to site as needed.

Ensure that the project complies with legal requirements, such building and safety codes.

Performs other related duties as assigned.

What you will need:

High school diploma or equivalent, and several years of relevant work experience may qualify.

Previous experience in Supervisory role preferred.

Previous experience in roofing preferred.

Knowledge of computer-aided drafting and design (CADD) systems to make products.

Knowledge of sheet metal and roofing materials and installation.

Ability to work with sheet metal:

Pieces of thin steel, aluminum, or other alloyed metal in both manufacturing and construction.

Ability to work with roofing materials:

Asphalt shingles, tiles (solar and others), solar shingles, metal shingles, slate, shakes (rough wooden shingles), hot bitumen, single-ply membrane of waterproof rubber or thermoplastic compound, vegetative roofs, and rainwater harvesting systems.

Ability to work in fabrication shops with automated machinery, such as computer-controlled saws, shears, and presses, which measure, cut, bend, and fasten pieces of sheet metal.

Ability to work as part of a team.

Ability to communicate verbally and in written form instructions.

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide and perform basic algebraic and geometric equations.

Ability to interpret technical blueprints, models, and specifications so that they can craft precision tools and metal parts.

Ability to have concentration for accuracy and agility.

Must be able to traverse work sites and ability to handle heights.

Physically able to bend, squat, climb, stand, walk, kneel, and crouch for extended periods of time, sometimes in close quarters or in awkward positions.

Ability to work outdoors with exposure to all types of weather, including but not limited to, extreme temperatures.

The work environment may be noisy or dusty, and job tasks may create vibrations.

Must be able to lift 50 pounds at a time to lift and carry materials.
