Job Description:

POSITION SUMMARY: We are seeking a full-time Director of Worship, Music, and Arts who will further First Methodist Carrollton's vision of filling every neighborhood with the Good News of God's love through planning and facilitating dynamic, engaging, and energetic worship experiences.

Worship is more than just great music and stage presence; worship is an experience. Worship is an expression of recognition for who God is and thankfulness for His goodness. We are looking for someone who can bring great energy to our worship experience and lead the congregation in excellent modern worship.

WE'RE LOOKING FOR SOMEONE WHO:
  • Is passionate about Jesus and seeks the guidance of the Holy Spirit when leading worship.
  • Has the ability to effectively create and engage the congregation in an atmosphere of worship while both singing and playing an instrument.
  • Is fluent leading worship in a contemporary worship style.
  • Has proven ability to recruit, train, empower and lead a team of both volunteer and hired musicians.
  • Has effective organization and time management skills.
  • Exhibits a spirit of cooperation among the worship team, including but not limited to vocalists and instrumentalists.
  • Has strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Is growth minded and innovative.
  • Is willing to invest in this congregation and its members.
  • Holds a bachelor's degree in a related field, preferably music, with previous experience as a worship leader.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Plan, coordinate, and lead all music for weekly and special worship service experiences.
  • Work in collaboration with pastoral and worship staff to plan and outline the vision for weekly and special event worship service experiences in alignment with the strategic mission of our church.
  • Develop and implement processes and policies that encourage excellence in Worship.
  • Ability to build, inspire and lead a team of volunteer and hired instrumentalists and vocalists.
  • Ability to work cohesively with the Production and Communications Directors
  • Oversee and manage the Music & Arts budget.

WORK SCHEDULE: 40 hours per week requiring flexibility in schedule to meet requirements. Evening and weekend hours required.
