Our R&D Systems department at Cobham Satcom's R&D/Production facility in Concord, California, is currently on the lookout for a seasoned Program Manager with a strong background in system development. This role is integral to our operations and demands a candidate with exceptional technical acumen, superb communication skills, and a knack for swiftly troubleshooting and resolving program-related challenges.
As the Program Manager based in Concord, you'll be at the forefront of our site's program initiatives, liaising closely with our core program team situated in Denmark. Additionally, you'll collaborate extensively with our local partner in Concord, fostering strong working relationships and ensuring seamless coordination across all program activities.
BASIC FUNCTION
The Program Manager is responsible for the development and implementation of products and product upgrades. Coordinates departmental or cross-functional teams, focused on delivering new or upgrading existing products. Monitors the project from initiation through delivery including planning and directing schedules and monitoring budget/spending. Organizes cross-functional activities, ensuring completion of the project (i.e. product) on schedule and within budget constraints.
Other tasks - but not limited to, are:
Management of all cost, schedule, and execution of assigned programs, as well as customer communication and satisfaction
Manages the development and implementation of new products and product upgrades
Works closely with Sales, Purchasing, Planning, Engineering and Manufacturing on design, build, testing, and production of new products and product upgrades
Plans and directs timelines, monitors spend / budget, and leverages resources from across the company
Responsible for conducting Program status meetings, program reviews, financial tracking and communicating program metrics, as required.
Develops, maintains, and executes risk and opportunity management IAW best practices.
Has responsibility for ensuring the compliance of the product to the initial system requirements.
Must adhere to and support the company's Safety Health & Environmental (SHE) program

As our Program Manager at Cobham Satcom, your qualifications should ideally be:
Bachelors of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related field is required; MBA desirable.
A minimum of 5 years of previous experience as a Project Manager (PJM), or 3 years as a Program Manager (PM), in a relevant technical field is required;
Experience in a development environment where electro-mechanical devices are designed, developed, produced, and fielded is required.
Prior knowledge of Radio Frequency (RF) equipment, Satellite Communications (SATCOM), Modems, and similar technologies is highly desired.
Experience in working with customers and representing the company to the customer community is necessary.
In order to successfully fill the duties of the position, the candidate will report to the facility in Concord, CA. Remote working opportunities are available when properly scheduled and coordinated with team members, and as permissible by the phase of the program. The working environment is in an office setting and open factory environment.
