The Psychometrist runs psychological tests evaluating cognitive, academic, neuropsychological, behavioral, and emotional status in order to provide valuable information to Psychologists, Psychiatrists, and other physicians. This role collaborates with others and contributes decision making for patient treatment, in accordance with treatment plans.



JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• The Psychometrist administers and scores neuropsychological tests with patients at Shepherd Center.


• Administer & score neuropsychological and/or psychological tests to inpatient with acute brain injuries and spinal cord injuries, as well as outpatients, under the supervision of a neuropsychologist.


• Enter demographic & neuropsychological data into REDCap database for clinical research purposes. Provide behavioral observations of patients & maintains interface with neuropsychologists Maintain accurate records, confidentiality of test results, and the security of testing materials.

• Master's degree in Psychology, Rehabilitation Counseling, Counseling Psychology or related field preferred.


• Must have education and training in administration and scoring of neuropsychological and psychological tests.

• Certified Specialist in Psychometry (CSP)

• Certified Specialist in Psychometry (CSP) in the state of Georgia


• Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification required.


• Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Certification required.

• Experience in testing individuals with neurological disorders and other medical conditions are preferred.


• One (1) year experience working with adults with brain injuries is preferred.

• Must be able to administer a full range of neuropsychological and psychological tests, including fixed battery procedures, intellectual and academic, assessment instruments, and personally assessment inventories and measures.


• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.


• Strong interpersonal skills, clinical judgment, and ability to empathize with and encourage maximal effort from a varied patient population.


• Ability to work in a team environment and to collaborate with medical & other professional staff.


• Demonstrable skills in problem solving, personal flexibility, resourcefulness in decision making, prioritization, time management, and attention to detail.


• Ability to troubleshoot difficult testing situations.


• Data entry and management experience.


• Strong organization and time management skills.
