GPIis currently seeking a Traffic Technical Design Lead to join our Shelton, CT office. As the successful candidate, you will have the opportunity to work in and grow our traffic department.

Responsibilities:



  • Perform and/or manage traffic and parking studies, signal design, adaptive signal systems, Complete Streets planning and design, intersection design, temporary traffic control plans, Road Safety Audits (RSA), Highway Safety Manual (HSM) analysis, traffic calming, traffic operational analysis and simulations, traffic data collection, Transportation Management Plans (TMP), ITS Concepts of Operations and System Engineering Reports, and other related traffic and transportation engineering work

  • Prepare or review written documents, summarize information collected by others, and assemble reports

  • Prepare or review calculations, plans, specifications, cost estimates, and technical reports

  • Manage coordination with clients


Qualifications
Required:



  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Electrical Engineering

  • 15+ years of progressive traffic and transportation engineering experience

  • Connecticut P.E. license

  • CTDOT traffic and transportation engineering design experience


Desirable:



  • MS in Transportation Engineering

  • A PTOE, PTP and/or PMP certification

  • Proficiency with MUTCD and AASHTO

  • Experience with traffic analysis and simulation software (Synchro, HCS and/or Vissim)

  • Experience with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation

  • Demonstrated ability to lead a team of engineers and designers




Requirements



MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:



  • Maintain a valid driver's license with a clean motor vehicle report (MVR) for final consideratio

  • Read, write, and understand plans and directions given in the English language

  • Basic computer skills with the ability to create and edit Microsoft Word and Excel documents, create Outlook emails and utilize SharePoint and Microsoft Teams to communicate with other team members

  • Able to wear GPI required PPE, i.e., hard hats, safety vest, work boots, and/or safety glasses/goggles while working
