Under the supervision of the Non-Invasive Testing Department (NITD) Director and Operations Manager, the department secretary performs a wide range of secretarial duties for the following NITD areas: Autonomic Testing; Cardiac Stress Testing; EEG: Echocardiography Lab; EKG; Pulmonary Function Testing; and Vascular Lab.
PC, word processing and data entry skills
Answering department phones in a professional manner
Greeting patients in a friendly, professional and welcoming manner
Checking in patients for their appointments via Epic
Scheduling patient appointments as necessary
Communicating with staff, department heads, physicians, and physician offices
Maintain service schedule for all office equipment.
Maintain detailed scheduling system via Epic
Confirm patient appointments not confirmed via the automated reminder system
Review weekly non-contracted patient list and acquire appropriate insurance authorization when needed prior to patient appointment date
Answer any patient questions and provide information regarding exams to patients via phone
Keep patients notified of any appointment delays and provide service recovery vouchers as needed
Create, maintain and update department consent forms as needed
Ability to investigate, troubleshoot and problem solve technical or other issues which may arise
Ordering and stocking office supplies as needed
Directing patients to their next appointment, walking them there if appropriate
Additional duties as assigned by the department Director or Operations Manager

Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent required. Associate's Degree or higher preferred
1-3 years of customer service experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
Excellent customer service and communication skills
Experience with Microsoft Office 365 is preferred
Experience with Epic is preferred
Ability to multi-task and make decisions quickly as situations arise
Knowledge of standard office equipment
Professional and confidential telephone skills
