DEI Intern, Corporate- $19.00+/hour



Guest Services, Inc. Corporate office is now hiring for a Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Intern to assist our Director of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion at our Fairfax, VA location.


This role is hybrid for local candidates and remote for non-local candidates, but non local candidates must live in one of the 17 states Guest Services, Inc. operates in. We expect this position to start June 1st and end August 9th, schedule entails Monday in the office and Tuesday- Wednesday remotely.


Pay ranges from $19.00 - $20.00/hour.

We are looking for apassionate and motivated individual to join our Diversity, Equity &Inclusion team to support our efforts in creating a more inclusive, diverse,and thriving work environment. You will work closely with our Director of DEIand other stakeholders to implement various initiatives, programs, and eventsthat promote our values and culture. You will also learn from our experiencedteam, develop your skills, and contribute to our mission.



JOB SUMMARY



The candidate willprovide support for special projects and initiatives as needed and willeffectively communicate with all levels of the employee population as arepresentative of the Diversity, Equity & Inclusion department. Thisinternship is an opportunity to grow and learn about a midsize corporation andjob responsibilities can be expanded to allow for some exploration in HumanResources department to the intern. As the intern you will assist in traininghiring managers and HR staff on how to attract, manage, hire evaluate, and retaindiverse employees.



ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS



In this role, youwill


  • Assist in planning, organizing, and executing inclusion, diversity, and wellbeing programs.


  • Conduct research and analysis on best practices, trends, and benchmarks in inclusion, diversity, and wellbeing.


  • Prepare and update reports.


  • Support the development and maintenance of inclusion, diversity, and wellbeing resources and tools .


  • Maintains knowledge of diversity-related issues, legislation, and best practices.


  • Performs other related duties as assigned.


SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS



  • Pursuing a degree in relevant field of study


  • Self-motivated and willingness to learn.


  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including proven dispute resolution skills.


  • General understanding of federal, state, and local equal employment opportunity laws and regulations.


  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.


  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.


  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
