Nurse Practitioner (MSN)/ Physician Assistant Cardiology inpatient at Massachusetts General Hospital(MGH) in Boston, Massachusetts

Job Description:

Working under the general direction of a collaborating physician, the advanced practice clinician (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) provides direct care to patients in a high volume clinical service (36 bed inpatient unit)/. S/he develops, implements, and evaluates a program of specialized health care for a select patient population with a broad range of Cardiovascular conditions including Heart failure, CAD, valvular heart disease and arrhythmias.. S/he will be responsible for the day to day management of patients including direct care, history and physical, orders, admission and discharge. S/he works collaboratively with the attending MD caring for the patients. S/he promotes a collaborative relationship among various health care professionals toward continuity of patient care and efficient use of resources. S/he serves as a role model for professional medical practice in the management of patients with cardiovascular disease.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:



• Current Massachusetts licensure as a registered nurse in the expanded role (NP) or physician assistant


• Current Federal & Massachusetts licensures to dispense Controlled Substances


• Certification in advanced practice nursing or physician assistant


• Certification in Basic Life Support


• Certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support
