Position Description:

The Department of World Languages and Cultures at Spelman College is seeking applications for a part-time Portuguese instructor position for the Spring 2024 semester. The successful candidate will be expected to teach one Portuguese language class at a beginning or intermediate level, including the responsibilities for designing the syllabus, grading students' work, and offering regular office hours for academic advisement. In addition, the successful candidate will be expected to work with other faculty members in support of Spelman College's goal to achieve excellence in teaching.


Qualifications:

Master, ABD or Ph.D of Arts in Portuguese language pedagogy
Teaching Portuguese language as a foreign/second language, Portuguese linguistics, or related fields.
Native or near-native proficiency in both Portuguese and English.
