Summary: As a WordPress Web Developer, you will play a pivotal role in creating custom websites from the ground up for our client partners. Your expertise in WordPress development will enable our partners to establish a compelling online presence and drive success in their respective markets. Additionally, as a Software Engineer, you will contribute to the development of custom software solutions that enhance our digital marketing and sales engine strategies. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on innovative projects, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and contribute to the growth and success of ChoiceLocal and our partners.

Reports to: Manager of Software Engineering

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop custom WordPress websites tailored to the unique needs and goals
  • of franchisees/ franchisor and multi-location partners, ensuring they
  • effectively reflect our partners' brands and messaging.
  • Implement front-end web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and back-end
  • WordPress solutions to create seamless user experiences and robust
  • functionality.
  • Ensure websites are fully responsive, optimizing performance and usability
  • across various devices and screen sizes.
  • Incorporate SEO best practices into WordPress website development to
  • enhance online visibility and search engine ranking for our partners.
  • Manage and update website content, including text, images, and multimedia
  • elements, to meet our partners' evolving needs.
  • Implement and maintain robust security measures within WordPress websites
  • to safeguard against potential cyber threats and data breaches.
  • Conduct thorough testing and debugging of WordPress websites to identify
  • and resolve issues, ensuring a flawless user experience.
  • Collaborate closely with other capability teams to ensure WordPress website
  • designs align with branding and marketing strategies.
  • Provide training and ongoing support to the ChoiceLocal team and partners in
  • WordPress website management, empowering them to maximize their online
  • presence.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and WordPress
  • development best practices to recommend and implement continuous
  • improvements for our partners.
  • Collaborate on the design and development of custom software solutions that
  • enhance our digital marketing and sales engine strategies.
  • Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code in languages such as HTML,
  • CSS, PHP, and JavaScript.
  • Design and maintain SQL databases specific to WordPress CMS.
  • Integrate software solutions with various third-party platforms and APIs to
  • enhance functionality.
  • Conduct rigorous testing and debugging of software applications to ensure
  • reliability and performance.
  • Create and maintain detailed documentation for software development and
  • implementation processes.
  • Stay informed about software development trends and emerging
  • technologies, providing recommendations for improvements and
  • optimizations.
  • Implement and adhere to Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment
  • processes.
  • Utilize Git for version control management throughout the development
  • lifecycle.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Web Development, Computer Science, or a related field
  • (or equivalent experience).
  • Proven experience in web development, with a strong focus on WordPress,
  • including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and responsive design.
  • Proficiency in website builds for multi-location businesses.
  • Proficiency in WordPress and experience with WordPress themes and plugins.
  • Strong knowledge of SEO best practices, web analytics tools, and WordPress
  • SEO plugins.
  • Experience with web security and data protection practices, particularly
  • within the WordPress ecosystem.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a creative mindset.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A passion for staying current with web design and WordPress development
  • trends.
  • Proficiency in programming languages like Python, Java, or C# and
  • experience with software development methodologies.
  • Familiarity with Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment processes.
  • Experience with version control using Git.
